Brokeness Moves With God

God has a dream for each and every one of our lives.  But that dream is never going to come true unless you come into alignment with what He has already purposed in His heart for your destiny.  God did not just determine your destiny, He prepared a pathway to see its fulfillment.  In fact, this pathway is the only way you will fulfill His dreams for you.  You may not understand the whole plan He has laid out for your life, but surely you are aware of some doors He has already opened.

Now you must obediently walk through every door He opens for you.  The issue is never God's unwillingness to direct you. It is always your unwillingness to walk through the doors He opens, to accept whatever assignment He gives you, and to take very opportunity He sends your way to prepare you for the future.  If you don't see Him moving in your life, it's probably because He's already asked you to do something that you have not yet done, and He's waiting for you to obey.

You might ask, "What if I'm not sure that the dreams in my heart are God's dreams?"   I would tell you to start acting on them and you will soon find out.  If they are truly God's dreams, you'll discover that your horizons expand as you obey Him.  It doesn't matter how ridiculous, how difficult, or how threatening His propositions appear to be, you must obey His voice if you want Him to lead you into the next step.  You may not feel comfortable with what God has asked you to do, but obedience is better than sacrifice.

God doesn't need you to tell Him how to order your life.  In fact, He doesn't even require that you tell Him what you need.  Your assessment may be completely wrong.  What God does need is your willingness to do whatever He asks, to go wherever He sends you, and to try anything He gives you a heart to do, even if you think you cannot do it.  He needs you to pray daily, "God I'm here.  Do what you want with me. I'm open to Your touch. Help me to hear Your voice and to see what You are doing.  I'm willing to serve You, Lord.  I'm ready to go.  Where I am not willing, please change my heart."

You and I have to take risks.  What God wants you to do may not always fit with the assumptions and expectations of others. There is no guarantee that they will accept what you do. Even then, your primary concern must be to obey your Lord.  Do what He asks.  You are His bond slave.  It is Him you must please.  In truth, you have nothing to lose and much to gain by your obedience.

The risk of disobeying God is much greater than the consequence of not obeying Him for fear that you may offend someone.  God is always faithful to those who obey Him.  He will accomplish forth His purposes for your life despite the opinions and judgments of those who scorn your obedience.

Fearing God more than man is the key to your destiny.  Then when God is ready to move, you will be ready to move, and an environment of possibilities is created.  You're free to cooperate with whatever God is doing without shutting Him up in a box formed by your preconceived ideas.  He can send you on an assignment much more incredible than you would ever dare to imagine, simply because you are ready to move or wait as He directs. Your choice to obey Him no matter how preposterous His plan may seem to be is what enables you to experience the exhilarating freedom and power of aligning yourself with God.

This, my friend, is called "Brokenness."   The day you repented and promised to obey Jesus as your Lord, you invited Him into your heart.  You are God's now, and He is equal to the task of refurbishing you.  Simply choose to obey God consciously and continuously, and you too will find that God your Father loves, encourages, and strengthens until you gradually become strong.  This is the process of "Brokenness."  And God moves in brokenness!

Love,

Pastor
